The owners requested unbroken ocean and city views; wide open spaces; indoor-outdoor living; and lots of natural light and ventilation to take advantage of their coastal location.

We placed the primary living spaces upstairs to take advantage of the stunning views possible only from the second level.  Upper main floors are tricky, but a mid-level entry solves the problem.

A proper entry follows a nice approach to the door, then a final few interior steps lead to stunning views from the main space.

On the interior we opened the walls at either end of the primary space with folding door systems to capitalize on cool coastal breezes and join interior and exterior rooms.
