The owners wanted a design that was sympathetic to the character of the neighborhood and the original 1924 bungalow while creating a contemporary interior with spectacular canyon views. 

A tricky balancing act resulted in an addition that is modernist in attitude and composition while remaining respectful of the neighbors and meeting hillside and environmentally sensitive land guidelines.
